On a December morn when winter’s night,
Begins her long retreat through mist and rain,
Owls take their leave from treetops make their flight,
Over snowy mountains great height they gain,
Wait for the sky with blue-green beams alight,
When electronic fire is daylight’s bane.
Dead leaves mark the faint trace of summer’s bane,
While all nature lies silent in the night,
When coral sunrise comes the light will gain,
Winter’s startled wings shall take soaring flight,
Spring softens frost-bound air to gentle rain,
Pure shining droplets on petals alight.
Warmth in swirls caresses the sky alight,
Celebrating the day of winter
